Education

2019-2023

BS Geological Sciences and Certificate in Field Geology at Arizona State University

I taught and graded 3 to 4 lab sections per term for the following classes:
Winter 2024 term: GE for ERTH 102 (Environmental Geology) Lab
Spring 2024: GE for ERTH 103 (Historical Geology) Lab

Experience

1/8/2024-6/14/2024

Graduate Employee at University of Oregon

I left graduate school as I have decided I wanted to start my career in the workforce.

2021-2023

ASU/NASA Space Grant Intern at Arizona State University

Worked in Dr. Amanda Clarke’s volcanology lab on analyzing the El Cajete pumice deposits in the Valles Caldera, New Mexico by making density measurements and detailed textural analysis of the pumice samples through petrographic and SEM analysis to understand the new batch of magma beneath the caldera and the plumbing system dynamics that led to the youngest eruption 50,000 years ago. Participated in a total of 20 hours of informal education/outreach per year, poster presentation session, and presented my work at the Annual Arizona Space Grant Symposium.

06/2022-08/2024

NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Planetary Habitability Over Space and Time (PHOST) at Rice University

Worked in Dr. Rajdeep Dasgupta’s Experimental Petrology Rice Team (ExPeRT) lab investigating hydrous mantle melting on Mars, quantifying storage of water in the Martian mantle, and how the mantle might have played a role in releasing and sequestering water from and in the interior of Mars.

2022-2023

Field Assistant at Arizona State University

-Assisted graduate student in characterizing El Cajete pyroclastic deposit, collecting samples, ground excavation, and scouting potential locations of interest.
– Assisted a graduate student in mapping the sulphur Springs at the Valles Caldera, NM.
-Assisted graduate student in mapping various explosion pits on the Banco Bonito lava flow by distinguishing between various rock textures present at the pits using StraboSpot and GPS system to precisely locate different rocks within a broad category.
